Common Fault Analysis and Maintenance Suggestions of Fuel Injector
- The needle valve of the injector is a precision coupling, and the matching clearance is required to be precise, generally only (0.002~0.004)mm. During the long-term operation of the diesel engine, it is easy to accumulate impurities and dirt, and the head of the injector is directly in contact with high-pressure and high-temperature gas, and the inner wall of the injection hole is continuously washed by high-pressure fuel, which may easily cause the diameter of the injection hole to expand. The common faults of the fuel injector mainly include: the needle valve is stuck, the diameter of the injection hole is too large, the fuel injection nozzle is dripping, the fuel injection pressure is insufficient, etc. These faults will cause the diesel engine to run unstable, the output power is reduced, and the exhaust pipe is black. There are discontinuous crackling sounds in the smoke and even the cylinder. Based on years of experience in the use of marine diesel engines, the analysis and judgment of common faults of fuel injectors and corresponding maintenance methods are summarized.
2.1 The needle valve of the fuel injector is stuck
When the injector needle valve is stuck in the needle valve body, because the needle valve cannot be opened or closed in time, it will cause abnormal ignition of a certain cylinder, or even a single cylinder flameout, and the diesel engine speed will drop. If the needle valve is stuck in the closed state, the oil pressure in the injection system of the diesel engine will increase sharply, the pulsation of the high-pressure oil pipe will be strong, and the high-pressure oil pump will generate heat with abnormal noise. If the needle valve is stuck in the open state, there will be no pulsation in the high-pressure fuel pipe. At this time, the fuel will be sprayed directly into the cylinder without atomization, and the diesel engine will emit a large amount of black smoke.
