Reasons for poor atomization of fuel injectors
Poor atomization of the fuel injector is mostly caused by the pressure of the fuel entering the annular oil chamber of the fuel injector being lower than the starting fuel injection pressure specified in the technical documents and the viscosity of the fuel being too high. The main reasons are:
(1) The fuel injector is not closed tightly. When the fuel injector is working, the needle valve and the valve seat are subjected to impact vibration, which will cause fatigue cracks and delamination deformation on the working surface of the needle valve. In addition, there are mechanical impurities, hydraulic flow erosion and corrosion. The roughness of the working surface between the needle valve and the valve seat is reduced, the sealing performance is deteriorated and oil leaks, which affects the increase of fuel pressure in the annular oil chamber and the fuel molecular density cannot be increased, resulting in poor atomization
(2) The matching parts (needle valve body and valve stem) of the fuel injector are worn. Abrasive wear is formed in the fit gap, which increases the fit gap between the needle valve stem and the valve body. When fuel is injected, part of the fuel will leak back to the fuel tank through the gap around the needle valve stem under pressure. Therefore, the fuel injection pressure of the fuel injector will be reduced and the atomization will be poor. At the same time, the fuel injection volume will be reduced, and the engine power will be reduced.
