The internal combustion engine professor at RWTH Aachen University has designed a sample "HiFORS" (high pressure/quick opening/regular injection molding) injector for this use, It is developed by combining injection pressure up to 250 MPa with injection molding with good flexibility and short opening and closing time to avoid adverse throttle of needle seat as far as possible. Although the automobile industry is currently committed to the development of discontinuous injection pattern, but has developed continuous modeling with modular structure injection pattern of fuel injectors, compared with traditional fuel injectors, significantly reduce the impact of pressure chamber throttling on the formation of mixture.
Modularization scheme of fuel injector
The HiFORS injector was developed to combine the high design flexibility of modular parts schemes with the flexibility of fuel injector functions, with individual fuel injector functions implemented with separate modules. HiFORS fuel injector can be divided into three main modules: drive module, servo hydraulic module and fuel injector module. These modules are connected to each other by fastening sleeves to ensure a sufficiently high contact pressure even at the highest injection pressure. The drive assembly is wrapped by a connector, which also contains a high pressure oil inlet channel, an oil return channel, an integrated sensor electrical plug and a piezoelectric actuator. In order to ensure comparability with mass production injector, mass production injector is used. The extension stroke of the piezoelectric element in the connector is transmitted to the servo hydraulic component immediately behind by the transition module.
The servo hydraulic component can transform the shape of the injection pattern. The piezoelectric valve (precontrol valve) converts the extension stroke of the piezoelectric module into a control pressure, which controls the main valve and then transmits the injection pressure to the nozzle assembly.
