Role of fuel injector nozzles
Injector nozzle is the key component of fuel injection system of automobile engine, and its role is mainly reflected in the following aspects:
Accurate fuel metering
In the electronically controlled fuel injection system, the injector nozzle accurately controls the amount of fuel injected according to the commands issued by the engine control unit (ECU), which calculates the required amount of fuel according to the feedback information from various sensors, such as the engine's rotational speed, load, temperature, and so on, and then by controlling the nozzle's opening time and frequency, it will inject the appropriate amount of fuel into the engine's intake manifold or cylinders to ensure that the engine can obtain the appropriate air-fuel ratio under different operating conditions, achieve good combustion, and improve the engine's combustion. The engine can obtain suitable air-fuel ratio under different working conditions, realize good combustion effect, and improve engine power performance and fuel economy.
Fuel atomization
The injector nozzle sprays the fuel at a certain pressure and angle to disperse the fuel into fine atomized particles. Good atomization effect can increase the contact area between the fuel and air, so that the fuel and air can be more fully mixed to form a uniform combustible mixture, which is conducive to improving the combustion speed and combustion efficiency, so that combustion is more complete, reducing the generation of carbon deposits, reducing the emission of hazardous substances in the tailpipe, and at the same time can enhance the power and torque output of the engine.
Control of fuel injection moment
Injector nozzles are able to inject fuel at the exact moment in accordance with the engine's operating cycle and ignition sequence. Injecting fuel at a specific moment during the intake or compression stroke enables the fuel to form an optimal mixture with the air in the cylinder, ensuring that the combustible mixture can be burned quickly and fully when the spark plug is ignited, thus maximizing the power output of the engine, and ensuring the engine's normal operation and performance. If the injection moment is inaccurate, it will lead to problems such as reduced power, shaking and increased fuel consumption of the engine.
Fuel Distribution
In a multi-cylinder engine, the injector nozzles have to ensure that the fuel is distributed evenly across the cylinders. Each injector nozzle needs to accurately inject the corresponding proportion of fuel into the respective corresponding cylinder, so that the combustion of each cylinder is as consistent as possible to ensure the smooth running of the engine. If the injector nozzle malfunction, resulting in a cylinder spraying too much or too little fuel, will make the power output of the engine cylinders is not balanced, causing engine shaking, poor acceleration and other problems, and in serious cases will even affect the reliability and service life of the engine.
