Importance and working principle of injector nozzles
Fuel injector nozzle plays a vital role in the engine. It is a key component of the engine fuel supply system, and its working condition directly affects the performance of the engine. If the injector nozzle fails, it will lead to increased fuel consumption, excessive emissions, starting difficulties, unstable idling and other problems.
The working principle of the injector nozzle involves electromagnetic control and fuel injection. Most automotive injector nozzles use electromagnetic control. When the ECU (engine control unit) sends a control signal, the coil inside the injector nozzle generates a magnetic field that sucks up the needle valve, causing fuel to be injected through the nozzle. When the ECU stops supplying power, the magnetic field disappears, the needle valve closes under the action of the return spring, and fuel injection stops.
The injector nozzles atomise the fuel at high pressure and spray it into the engine cylinder. According to the different injection methods, it can be divided into single-point EFI and multi-point EFI. Single-point EFI involves installing the injector at the carburettor position, while multipoint EFI involves installing the injector on the intake pipe of each cylinder.
For example, after a car has been driven for some time, certain deposits can form in the fuel system. These deposits may block the access to the injectors and affect the normal operation of the injectors. Statistically, deposits can block the needle valves and valve holes of the injector nozzles, affecting the working performance of the precision parts of the electronic injection system and leading to a reduction in power performance. Deposits will also form carbon deposits in the intake valve, resulting in its closure is not strict, resulting in unstable engine idle, fuel consumption increases and accompanied by deterioration of exhaust emissions.
Therefore, understanding the importance and working principle of the injector nozzle is crucial to the correct use and maintenance of the vehicle.
