How to test the performance of an injector solenoid? Share
Resistance Detection
Operation method: Use the resistance gear of the multimeter, connect the pens of the multimeter to the two terminals of the injector solenoid valve and measure its resistance value.
Judgment standard: The resistance value of the injector solenoid valve of different models may be different, generally around 12 - 18Ω. If the measured resistance value differs greatly from the standard value, it means that the solenoid valve may be faulty, such as short-circuit or broken coil.
Supply Voltage Detection
Operation method: When the engine is running or starting, use the voltage gear of the multimeter, connect the red pen to the power supply terminal of the injector solenoid valve, and ground the black pen to measure its supply voltage.
Judgment standard: under normal circumstances, the injector solenoid valve supply voltage should be similar to the vehicle battery voltage, generally around 12V. If the measured voltage is significantly lower or higher than the standard value, it means that there may be problems in the power supply circuit, which will affect the normal operation of the solenoid valve.
Injector waveform detection
Operation method: Use the special oscilloscope for automobiles, connect the probe of the oscilloscope to the control line of the fuel injector solenoid valve, start the engine, and observe the waveform of the fuel injector drive displayed on the oscilloscope.
Judgment criteria: the normal injector drive waveform should be a pulse signal with a certain width and amplitude. If the waveform is abnormal, such as the pulse width is not correct, the amplitude is too low or too high, the waveform is incomplete, etc., it means that the control signal of the injector solenoid valve may be problematic, or the solenoid valve itself is not performing well.
Injector test
Operation method: Remove the injector from the engine and connect it to the specialized fuel injection test equipment, which can simulate the working conditions of the engine, provide fuel pressure and control signals for the injector, and make the injector spray fuel.
Judgment criteria: observe the injector spraying situation, under normal circumstances, the injector should be able to evenly and finely sprayed fuel to form a good spray shape. If the spray is uneven, dripping phenomenon or irregular spray shape, it means that the injector solenoid valve may be faulty, affecting the fuel injection effect.
Sealing test
Operation method: On the basis of the fuel injection test, conduct a sealing test on the injector. Install the injector on the test equipment, in the state of no fuel injection, apply a certain fuel pressure to the injector, and observe whether there is fuel leakage from the injector.
Judgment criteria: under normal circumstances, the injector should not have obvious fuel leakage under a certain pressure. If fuel leakage is found, it means that the sealing of the injector solenoid valve is not good, and there may be wear and tear or impurities between the needle valve and the valve seat, resulting in poor sealing.
