How to detect the injection pressure of diesel injectors?
Preparation
Remove the diesel injector to be tested from the engine, and be careful not to damage the injector and related connecting parts during the removal process.
Prepare an injector test bench, which should have a stable oil pressure supply system and accurate pressure measuring device. At the same time, prepare the corresponding connecting oil pipes and clamps to install the injector on the test bench.
Ensure that the environment around the test bench is clean to prevent impurities from entering the injector or the oil system of the test bench.
Install the injector
Use a special clamp to firmly install the injector on the injector test bench. During installation, pay attention to the installation position and direction of the injector should be consistent with the installation on the engine, and the connecting oil pipe should be firmly installed to prevent oil leakage.
Connect the high-pressure oil pipe of the test bench to the oil inlet of the injector, ensuring that the connection is tight and there is no leakage.
Detect the injection pressure
Turn on the power supply of the test bench or start the power source, so that the oil pump of the test bench starts to work and supplies high-pressure fuel to the injector.
Slowly adjust the pressure regulating valve on the test bench to gradually increase the fuel pressure, and observe the injection of the injector at the same time. When the injector starts to spray fuel, read the pressure value displayed by the pressure measuring device on the test bench at this time. This pressure value is the opening pressure of the injector, that is, the injection pressure.
In order to ensure the accuracy of the measurement, the pressure adjustment and injection observation can be repeated many times, and the average value of several measurement results is taken as the injection pressure of the injector.
Comparison with standard value
Compare the injection pressure value obtained by the test with the standard injection pressure value of the diesel injector. The standard value can usually be found in the engine maintenance manual or the product manual of the injector.
If the test value is within the allowable range of the standard value, it means that the injection pressure of the injector is normal; if the test value deviates too much from the standard value and exceeds the allowable tolerance range, it means that there is a problem with the injector, which may be a blocked nozzle, insufficient spring elasticity or other damaged parts, and further inspection and repair are required.
Post-test processing
After the test is completed, turn off the power supply or power source of the test bench, release the pressure in the oil circuit, and then remove the injector and the connecting oil pipe.
Keep the injector properly so that it can be reinstalled on the engine when needed. If there is a problem with the injector, it should be repaired or replaced promptly and tested again before being installed back into the engine to ensure that its performance meets the requirements.
