Fuel System Repair
The fuel system is the core part of a diesel engine and is responsible for injecting fuel into the combustion chamber at the right pressure and at the right time. The injection pump and injector are key components of the system.
First, how to repair fuel injection pump failure. Common faults include plunger wear, oil delivery valve sealing is not tight, etc. During maintenance, the plunger and oil delivery valve need to be carefully inspected and replaced if necessary. The fuel injection pump of a certain agricultural tractor failed, causing difficulty in starting the diesel engine and reducing power. After inspection, it was found that the plunger of the fuel injection pump was severely worn and the oil outlet valve was not tightly sealed, resulting in insufficient fuel pressure and uneven fuel supply. Use a fuel pressure tester to measure and find that the fuel pressure fluctuates in the range of 15 to 20MPa. Therefore, replace the worn plunger and repair the sealing surface of the oil delivery valve, and use special grinding tools to grind the oil delivery valve to ensure its sealing performance. After replacement, the fuel pressure stabilized within the range of 22 to 24MPa. After the repair, the diesel engine started smoothly, the power returned to normal, and the fuel consumption rate was also significantly reduced.
Second, how to repair injector faults. Common faults include clogged nozzles, stuck needle valves, etc. During maintenance, the injector needs to be disassembled, cleaned and calibrated. A certain ship's diesel engine injector malfunctioned. The diesel engine emitted black smoke and increased fuel consumption when running. After disassembling the fuel injector, it was found that there was severe carbon accumulation inside the nozzle, resulting in poor fuel atomization. A fuel injector test bench was used for testing, and it was found that the fuel injection volume was uneven and the atomization effect was poor. Use a special cleaning agent to clean the carbon deposits inside the nozzle, and grind the needle valve to restore its flexibility and sealing. After cleaning, it was tested again on the test bench. The fuel injection amount was even and the atomization effect was significantly improved. After the maintenance, the black smoke phenomenon disappeared when the diesel engine was running, and the fuel consumption rate returned to normal.
