    Composition of Diesel Engine

    1. Crank connecting rod mechanism

    The crank connecting rod mechanism is composed of cylinder block, cylinder head, piston, connecting rod, crankshaft and flywheel. This is the engine that generates power and converts the linear reciprocating motion of the piston into the rotational motion of the crankshaft to output power to the outside.

    2. Valve mechanism

    The valve mechanism is composed of intake valve, exhaust valve, valve spring, tappet, camshaft and timing gear. Its function is to fill the cylinder with fresh gas in time and discharge the exhaust gas generated by combustion in time.

    3. Fuel supply system

    The diesel engine fuel supply system is composed of fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel injection pump, diesel filter, etc. Its function is to supply pure air to the cylinder and inject a certain amount of diesel into the cylinder at a specified time to adjust the engine output power and speed. Finally, the exhaust gas after combustion is discharged from the cylinder.

    4. Intake system

    The basic requirement for the intake system is to provide as much clean air as possible to the engine. The air intake mode can be divided into natural aspiration, supercharging, supercharging intercooling, and dual supercharging intercooling. The system is mainly composed of air filter, intake pipe, cylinder head airway, etc. The main function of the air filter is to filter out impurities and dust in the air to ensure the cleanliness of the air entering the cylinder to extend the service life of the engine.

    5. Cooling system

    Diesel engines generally use water cooling. The water cooling type consists of a water pump, a radiator, a fan, a thermostat, and a water jacket (in the body). Its function is to use the circulation of cooling water to dissipate the heat of high-temperature parts into the atmosphere through the radiator, thereby maintaining the normal working temperature of the engine. The diesel injected into the combustion chamber of the diesel engine generates a large amount of heat; about one-third of it is converted into mechanical energy through the piston and connecting rod mechanism, and works externally; about one-third is discharged by exhaust; about one-third is lost by the cooling system.

    6. Lubrication system

    The lubrication system consists of an oil pump, a filter, an oil channel, an oil pan, etc. The function of the lubrication system is to deliver quantitative, clean, and appropriately viscous lubricating oil to all necessary parts to reduce friction, slow down the wear of parts, and clean and cool the friction surface. It plays an important role in the reliability and durability of diesel engines, including: reducing the wear of parts and reducing friction work; cooling and cleaning the lubricating surface; preventing rust in the places where the oil film is adsorbed; and providing hydraulic medium.

    7. Starting system

    The starting system consists of a battery, wires, a solenoid cut-off valve, a start switch, a starter, and a charger, which are used to start a stationary engine and turn it into an autonomous operation state.
