Methods And Techniques For Normal Starting Of Diesel Engines
Diesel engines are more difficult to start than gasoline engines. If a diesel engine is difficult to start during routine maintenance, the cause of the difficulty should be identified first, and then the right remedy can be taken to ensure that the diesel engine can start normally.
(1) Insufficient battery power leads to difficulty in starting. At this time, the battery needs to be fully charged in time to assist in starting the diesel engine. If conditions do not permit, the battery of another vehicle can be connected via a jumper cable to help start the diesel engine.
(2) Difficulty in starting due to low external ambient temperature. Before starting the diesel engine, first press the heating wire switch to heat the air in the intake system and the oil pan at the bottom to increase the fluidity of the engine oil and reduce the starting resistance. If the engine is still difficult to start at this time, use another starting fuel (such as ether and aviation kerosene prepared in a volume ratio of 1:1) to help start.
(3) Difficulty in starting due to poor fuel supply in the diesel engine supply system. If there is air resistance, material resistance or water resistance in the diesel engine supply system, the fuel cannot enter the combustion chamber normally, which leads to difficulty in starting the diesel engine. At this time, the cause should be found out in time, the "three obstacles" of the fuel supply system should be eliminated, and the fuel supply of the diesel engine should be guaranteed to eliminate this type of fault.
(4) Diesel engine starting difficulties caused by incorrect diesel grades. The light diesel used in diesel engines is graded according to the solidification point of diesel. Generally speaking, diesel engines use No. 0 diesel in summer. When the temperature drops below 0 ℃ in winter, if No. 0 diesel is still used in the diesel engine tank, the diesel is prone to solidification and waxing, which will cause oil circuit blockage and further cause starting difficulties. Choosing the right grade of diesel according to the local temperature can eliminate the fault of engine starting difficulties caused by incorrect grades.
