Differences in operation between common rail diesel injectors and ordinary injectors
The operational differences between common rail diesel injectors and regular injectors are mainly in the design and working principles of the systems behind them. Here are some of the main differences between the two at the operational level:
1. System design:
Common rail diesel injectors: part of the high pressure common rail diesel fuel injection system, which consists of a high pressure fuel pump, a common fuel supply pipe, fuel injectors, a computer and some pipeline pressure sensors. The high-pressure fuel pump generates high-pressure fuel and delivers it to the common fuel supply line, and each injector in the system is connected to the common fuel supply line through its own high-pressure fuel line.
Common Injector: usually belongs to the conventional diesel injection system, where a high pressure pump driven by the engine camshaft delivers diesel fuel to the fuel chamber of each cylinder.
2.Working Principle:
Common Rail Diesel Injector Nozzle: In operation, the injection pressure of the injector can reach 140 to 160MPa or even higher. High pressure common rail system through the pressure sensor will common rail pressure value feedback to the control unit, and through the control of the solenoid valve to open the appropriate relief to regulate the pressure in the common rail, to achieve the precise control of the injection pressure and the amount of fuel injected.
Ordinary fuel injector: its fuel supply method has to change with the change of engine speed, and it is impossible to realize the optimal fuel supply under various speeds. The opening and closing of the injector nozzle and the quantity of oil injected are mainly controlled by the mechanical structure of the camshaft and the high-pressure oil pump.
3. Operation and maintenance:
Common Rail Diesel Injector Nozzle: Due to the advanced electronic control technology and high pressure common rail design, common rail diesel injector nozzle requires specialized equipment and technology in replacement, maintenance and debugging. In addition, due to the high injection pressure, the fuel quality and system cleanliness requirements are high, requiring regular cleaning and replacement of filters.
Ordinary injectors: relatively simple, easier to replace and repair. However, due to its fuel supply is relatively single, the adaptability of the engine working conditions is poor, need to be adjusted accordingly to the engine speed and load changes.
4. Precautions:
When replacing the common rail diesel injector nozzle, you need to ensure that the operating environment is clean to prevent dust and other impurities from entering the system. At the same time, it is necessary to operate in accordance with the correct steps and sequence to avoid damaging system components or affecting system performance.
For common injectors, although the operation is relatively simple, you still need to pay attention to the installation position, sealing and connection reliability to ensure that the system works properly.
